In this garden, the clients wanted a new patio area drawing out from the house towards the existing lawn. Natural sandstone was used in keeping with the style of the house. The edge of the patio was curved in order to give a more natural blend between hard paving and the softer grassed area. Stones of different sizes and shades were laid to add interest and depth to the space. Edging cobbles are placed along the edge of the patio, snaking their way through the garden. We also inserted a number of smaller paved "stepping stones" crossing from the patio over to the rear of the garden; the addition of such stones adds interest to the lawn and draws the eye through the garden to the fabulous view beyond the trees and shrubs.
