One of our recent gardens was based around the construction of a main circular patio area with an eye catching polished stone central water feature. The paving selected for this project was sawn and honed sandstone which gives a much more polished appearance. The colour here was “Fossil”
The patio area was then completed with natural sandstone cobbled edging - this time in a darker shade of “raj blend”
The patio sits at a lower level to the client’s main lawned area and so a retaining wall was constructed running adjacent to the cobbled edging. Oak railway sleepers were used instead of the more common softwood sleepers to give a more contemporary and uniform look.
The patio is finally linked to the lawned area with the creation of natural stone steps allowing the flow from one space to the other.
The final result can be seen in the photos displayed below.
