This was a very fluid project and the scope continued to change as we spent more time on site. The main feature of this garden was the construction of a wooden pergola. The customer wanted cedar shingles as a roof covering for the pergola and they really enhanced the overall effect. The colours of the cedar are particularly eye catching and the aroma of the wood is quite lovely.
A substantial paved area was constructed beneath and to the side of the pergola using autumn brown sandstone paving. A sandstone wall was also constructed in order to create separation from the rest of the lawned part of the garden.
