The client knew exactly what they wanted here. A retaining wall was required to support the extended terrace area. The main focus of the brief was to match the existing stonework as closely as possible, the property being 100+ years old.
We built the dry sandstone wall using a double skin; the wall was reinforced with concrete hidden in the cavity. Weep holes were created within the wall to allow adequate drainage from the patio. The terrace was completed using sandstone paving, laid out using the "random Stretcher Bond" pattern. Steps were then added leading up onto the centre of the patio.
Customer's comments
"..I was very impressed with the overall professionalism of the job. The quality of the work carried out was excellent but I was most impressed by the punctuality – the work started on the day they said it would and took the 9 days quoted! The garden was left neat and tidy. ...I was also impressed with the original quote and the fact it was broken down into separate costs for labour and materials. We would gladly recommend Tom Moore Landscaping."
